Hi I will be purchasing my wife an Imac for Christmas. She does graphic art with adobe. I will also need it for gaming and transferring old Hi8 video home movies and VHS tapes over to it. I can't afford a new one so was wondering what a good option price per permance model would be. 2014, 2015 and so on. I want it to be somewhat future proof. What options should I look for? Any earlier models better than others? Would like a 27". Looking for your advice. Thanks.

The second you said games I will say spend that money on a decent PC.
To comfortably game on a mac you need eGPU and those will run you north of $600 with a so so card. About $800 with the Vega 64 and then you need a 2017+ machine with Thunderbolt 3.

[doublepost=1537795853][/doublepost]I understand that and know the Mac limitations of gaming but it’s for my wife and she hates anything to do with Windows and basically grew up on Mac OS so it has to be a Mac. I’m ok with dropping 800 to 1k but can’t drop like 2k on a new one.
