Help with quicktime and perian

I installed perian to play downloaded youtube videos. Now when I try to download a youtube video it just opens a new window and plays it instead of downloading it. I click on window from the topbar then activity then click the large file from the list to try to download it. Anyone know how I can get it to stop playing the video and download it instead like it did prior to perian? I removed perian but it still tries to play the video, not download it.

If I remember properly, you have to wait for the large file to fully cache, then double-click it.

Thanks, I figured it out. You have to hold down option now when you double click the file. I reinstalled perian and all is good.
