Help with registering the iPhone and synching with Outlook

So I've taken the plunge and bought myself an iPhone.

Now I realise I need to unlock the phone by connecting it to my iTunes account ... but bearing in mind that one of the main reasons for buying the thing was so that I could synch it with my Outlook at work, should I 'unlock' the phone on my work computer? Or is it going to be ok doing it at home?

I'm just wary of the fact that if I unlock the phone at home and it 'registers' itself with my laptop, I'm not going to be able to synch calendars with the PC at work.
