Help with restoring to a new mac...

Hi guys,
This maybe a real stupid question but i cant find how to do it and dont want to mess it up.
My old macbook pro was always backed up using time machine with a G technology external hard-drive.
I now have a new iMac which i have been using for about 4 days now, is it possible to transfer all the stored stuff from the harddrive on the new imac?
Im particularly after itunes music and contacts.

thanks for the post but unfortunately i forgot to mention i havent got the old macbook pro anymore, all i have is the external hard-drive and my new imac...
