My GF downloaded Safari 3.1.1 to her OS X 10.3.9 iBook and now safari won't open at all. Any way to fix this problem without bringing it into the shop? Tried to download Safari 1.3.1 using explorer but it comes up with error when trying to install it.

Many thanks

A

There are two ways to fix this:

Method 1: Reinstall Mac OS X, using the Archive and Install option with Preserve Users and Network Settings checked. You'll have to reinstall all software updates, though, after the install finishes.

Method 2: Delete the Safari 3.1.1 application, then try again to install the Safari you have that works with Panther.

If you still get errors with method 2 you may need to remove Safari's support files also.
