Hi,

I've installed SDP and toggle and have enabled. It works for some file types (e.g. .ZIP), but if I click a link of an MP3 the embedded QuickTime player starts playing the file.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this so I get the option to Save or Launch?

Thanks!

iPhone 4S 5.0.1 (9A405)

get rid of the SDP, it screws up your system, did you try youtube already?

I'm not hung up on usng SDP if someone can recommend an alternative method....

I want to be able to download MP3's from a specific website and then use Mews**k to import them into iPhone's built in Music App. So I need a way to download .MP3's to the iPhone filesystem.

Use ifile, it has download capabillity.

Hopefully Safari Download Manager for 5+ is fnished soon, Dhowett is taking his time, not a priority.

iFile has download? How? He only way I culd find was to creat a bookmark to each MP3, which is obviously laborious.

Latetst iFile you can simply open in a new window, it should then give you a choice how to open.

I have latest iFile.

Sorry if I'm being thick, but I've downloaded and read the iFile user guide and there is no mention of download support and I don't know what you mean by "Open in New Window". If you mean in Safari then this has no effect (still embeds a QuickTime player in new Window - no option to download).

Thanks.

Let me bump the thread joining the question.

iPhone 4, 5.1.1 9b208.
I have installed both Safari Download Plugin and Safari Download Enabler from Cydia. It can download .exe, .zip, etc. but not .mp3.

I have heard that iOS applications have "priorities" of file opening, and standard iOS player has the maximum one for mp3's. So, may be I can give maximum prioirty to smth. like iFile? If it's possible - I think it's a solution.

Sorry for my not so good English as it's not my native language.

Get rid of the plugin, safari download enabler can download MP3 perfectly fine.
Also the new Safari Download Manager is about to be released.
