Sorry if this is the wrong section! I couldn't figure out which was appropriate.
I have always been very into purchasing high end sound products and I usually buy the best I can find. My setup for about a year or two consisted of a Logitech Z-5500 system. Just recently I have purchased two sets of Audyssey Media Speakers and I'm extremely happy with them. Killer sound from such little speakers. But, I forgot to think of a way to use both sets. I would also like to tie in the Logitech's into the setup because why let them go to waste? I need help finding a way to do the following:
Input one: Xbox 360
I will be using the component/hdmi method seen on YouTube. Which consists of stripping the casing off of the component cable provided and then using the red/white audio cables to a 3.5mm input for computer speakers. Then the hdmi still fits snugly for crisp HD gameplay.
Input two: MacBook Pro
I do have a cable that looks similar to this I can use if I need to.
My problem is I cannot figure out a smart way to run two inputs into three killer outputs for some crazy insane surround sound. All 3 speakers have a toslink input and 3.5mm input. However, for full surround sound on the Logitech system you need to create a cable web for its 6 channel direct input. I currently have a mess of 3.5mm to splitter after splitter and so on. I won't mind ordering new equipment and cables as some of it is cheap outdated cables. But currently I have 3 3.5mm spare cables, 2 3.5mm splitters, 3.5mm female to male, and the cable I mentioned before.
I hope someone here can think of a way to make my xbox and laptop (and me) very happy.
Thanks!
