I'm sure this is a stupid question with an easy answer but I can't find it!!

My stacks have disappeared from my dock. I used to automatically get my downloads on the dock and they fanned out when I clicked on it. That is gone now... not sure if I did something to get rid of it, but I want it back!!

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you!

Click on Finder in the dock, This should bring up your home folder, if not click on your account name on the left between "Desktop" and "Applications" as default. Once in your home folder drag the "Downloads" folder to the left side of the splitter (white dashed line to the left) of the dock.

:)

It's probably set to auto, which means you have more than n files in there so it switches to another view. TO change it, click and hold on the folder in the Dock and change from Automatic to Stacks.

See, there is no folder in the dock anymore. I tried to drag the folder to the dock like Rhalliwell1 said above, but it wouldn't open on the left side of the line, though it would on the right. Not sure what the heck I'm doing wrong.

just right click, you will see all of the options there
