I'm calling the cops
Ok. My dad is giving me a bunch of clues on something he is going to get me for christmas and my birthday(tomarrow) combined. My sister, mom, and dad know what it is. Here are the clues to what it is:

German Chipmunks Cause Chaos(told it to me in german)

62(could be just 6 and 2)

Lights Out, Spot On

V(yes, just the letter)

In the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's SuperMan, no, it's a gift

572 X 2 squared X 250

Improve my game

Magnify Glass(told it to me in german)

And that all I can remember.(not a clue)

I play hockey and I asked if I could pay half and half with him for the 2405fpw dell monitor. So these could be clues to.

PLEASE HELP! and no my dad's not on drugs.

This has got me stumped!
Sind Sie sicher, dass die deutschen Wörter nicht noch etwas bedeuteten? (Are you sure the German words didn't mean something else?) I knew all those years of german in HS would pay off lol.

New clues:

There's no fruit at McDonalds

It's not a fruit

The V symbolizes something

And also something about mechanical enigneers(german)

All these clues in German... maybe the gift is a Volkswagen? :)

I wish my folks would give me a car for my birthday/christmas. Everytime I ask for one they give me a matchbox car.

Glad the drugs have been ruled out. I think your father is playfully misleading you so that you have a surprising holiday. Enjoy your new spiffy underwear and socks. :)

dude your getting a car

probably a volkswagon

The "V" symbolizes something "VW"
"Its a bird, its a plan," (references to a jetta)
"improve your game" (references to golf, which is a car by VW)

My sister just got a jetta so we can rule that out.

aren't you a lil young to be getting a car? your profile says you're 14. a VW was my first guess, but then i checked your age.

Here are some more I just got:

Expand my mind

I use only 10 percent of my brain, this will make me use 11.

It will make me use my skills to their advantage

I can make movies on the computer, so it might have something to do with that?

Oh and I am not getting a car.

I really really hope he is just misleading you. Otherwise if the clues are about something, they are about it in a vey abstract way. Maybe a game console?

Is there any signifigance to the german? Is he german, how do you know how to speak it? That sort of thing.

my guess is a video cam.

V -for video
lights on, spot on - filming lingo
magnify glass -zoom
improve your game - watch yourself play hockey
It will make me use my skills to their advantage - filming hockey
I can make movies on the computer, so it might have something to do with that?- alludes to vid cam

the other clues are quite vague

i was gonna say a toy passat, but the video cam thing makes a lot more sense. do you have a low-end one atm? maybe he's getting you a really nice one?

It could be a new computer:
  • Lights Out, Spot On could be a reference to the Spotlight application in Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger). So could the "Magnifying Glass" clue, since that's the icon associated with Spotlight.
  • V is the Roman numeral for 5, as in G5.
  • In the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's SuperMan, no, it's a gift could be a reference to the SuperDrive.
  • There's no fruit at McDonalds / It's not a fruit could be references to both Apple and Macintosh.
I'm having trouble making some of the other clues fit, though (especially "German Chipmunks Cause Chaos" and "572 x 2 squared x 250").

Well the original poster's profile states that he has a G5 (PowerMac) already... so I'm going to rule out a new computer.

Could be a vidcam...

It's possible that only some of the clues are related to the gift, others are to just throw you off.

I think there's some significance to the clues in German... perhaps those are the real clues? Hmm...
