Hi!
I was looking on the CWTV website, and it says that a show starts at 8/7 c.. What does that mean? I am actually asking on behalf of my sister who is studying in Hawaii at the moment.

When is 8/7 c in Hawaii? Does anyone know? :)

Thanks so much

Lisa

8/7 c is 8pm eastern time, 7pm central time. 2pm hawaii time. However, unless this is a live event there is no guarantee that the TV show will be on at the same time in Hawaii. It could be on at 8pm Hawaii time.

Well, 7 central is equivalent to 3 Hawaii time, but that's not to say the show will be airing at 3 in Hawaii. You should check your local TV guide (or hers) to know for sure.

I'm sorry, it says 8/7c :) Does that make a difference? I'm Norwegian so I really dont have a clue about the time zones

Thanks so much though!!

8/7c Means it is on at 8pm in the eastern time zone and 7pm in the central time zone (which of course is exactly the same time, because central is one hour behind eastern.)

However, this does not imply that it is shown in other time zones at the same time. You'll need to check the local hawaii tv listings to find out what time it is on there.

Thanks everyone! :) I've now asked her to go and buy a local TV guide as its hard to know lol
Is there any online TV guides? Or are they all local?

Thanks again :)

PS: I also have another question regarding her mobile phone, in another post on this board. ;)

tvguide.com can be localized to give specific listings.

where ever she lives, most likely the local newspaper will have the TV schedule online

I've lived in the US all my life and still don't understand how some of the timezones work, especially when it comes to TV. Some areas observe DST, others dont. Some shows are live, some are tape delayed. Just makes it even more confusing. Best thing to do, as others have said, is to go to a site like tvguide.com where she can put in her location and get TV listings in her timezone.
