Help with Updating iOS8

I'm about to update to iOS8 how do I backup because I have 3,700 photos and I don't want to lose them and will I lose my photo albums?

Sync them to your PC first either using iTunes or PhotoSync. Also use iTunes to locally backup your iPhone first (always backup before an upgrade). As a bonus use iTune to download and install the update, this is faster and possibly a more reliable option.
