Help with using redsn0w and finding IPSW for iPod touch jailbreak!!

I'm trying to use redsn0w to jailbreak my iPod. I've downloaded it and have gotten to the first part where i have to find my IPSW. I clicked browse and went to: myusername/library/itunes/ipod software updates and clicked on my IPSW. The redsn0w window says that it can't recognize my IPSW. So i'm really not sure of what to do. I have a macbook computer just in case you need to know that. Please help !! thanks in advance
