well the lighting isnt the thing because i setup some basic lamps to test that out but i am a beginner and i think it might be the F, whatever that is...but im not really familiar with the settings and i dont think i have iso in movie mode

Then take a look at the manual. The F stands for F-stop or F-number and represents the aperture, and the bigger the number the less light comes onto the film/sensor. http://www.uscoles.com/fstop.htm
