I'm not able to watch youtube and most other videos in HD. The app I downloaded does not show in HD and embedded videos also don't show in HD. The only time it does work is when I go to their website and click on the HD button. I've tried this on wifi, LTE, and 3G. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm on AT&T in the San Diego area with the grandfathered unlimited data. Also my current data usage is only 600mg so I'm sure it's not being throttled yet since that starts after 5gb. Is there a setting on the phone I might have missed?

Having the same issue here. The YouTube app won't take full advantage of the iPhone 5 screen either. Still cuts the video off on the sides.

I'm assuming they might push an update to it soon that allows HD and iPhone 5 compatibility.

The app doesn't show HD but videos imbedded in websites don't show in HD either. For example, the new apple ads linked in the homepage of macrumors don't show in HD.
