Help with Windows Media Installation

Dear all

I am running an imac & am having trouble installing windows media for my 10.4.10 operating system

It wants to open the installation with the VLC player, I can change & open it with another programme but (a) don't know which one to use or (2) how to not use another programme & let it just run it's self

Any ideas would be appreciated!!

I've read the other post relating to Windows media & have already got the other suggested options
