iPod touch Help

Grandson`s old iPod Touch was sat on while skateboarding.It worked for the longest time but now the touch doesn`t work. His mom wants to get him a new one for his B-day.When he connects to iTunes,will it load everything from the old one to the new one or is there something more to it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If he has everything on iTunes, you should have no problem syncing it.
