Helpp me (error 28)

i jailbroke my iphone 4 ages ago, its on 4.2.1 and i jailbroke it with greenpoison rc5, one day it just turned off and now it wont turn on or restore i get error 28. does anyone know how i can resolve this?

try putting it into DFU and restore.

I have tried this numerous times but the phone will not go into DFU.

As far as i can tell there is no water damage, the problem seems to happen after apple have verified the restore and the phone prepares to restore. the apple logo appears and the status bar appears under the apple logo then i get error 28. i have used itunes 9 to see if that makes a difference but i just get another error message ( error 3194 i think it was)
