Motorola is already screwing the pooch on this thing when comparing to the iPad. Initial price STARTS at $799, and that does not include a data plan that you initially have to buy, even if you are only using Wifi...WTF?? You have to buy at least one month of data subscription to activate the Wifi feature, which is $20 minimum.

What a crock...I hope it bombs like Hiroshima.

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to charge $20 to activate a feature? Let alone an $800 price tag. What a mess Motorola...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148a Safari/6533.18.5)

Yeah, def. Great machine crippled by insane pricing.

Jobs referred to this months ago. My guess is that Motorola isn't making much even at that price point. They simply do not have the economies of scale to compete with Apple. Hence Jobs predicted that most would come out with 7 inch tablets to be price competitive.

Seems like that's pretty accurate thus far when considering the Galaxy Tab and the Moto. They only way you're likely to see the price points drop the necessary $200 to be price competitive (eg. a better value) is with carrier subsidies. And that will require longer terms contracts .. not a single month as with the Xoom.
