I didn't see a sticky anywhere that lists the MacRumors' abbreviations to refer to, so I'm just gonna ask...

In discussions of the various Mac notebook discussions, I'm seeing things like "rMB" (and others which are similar), can anyone give me the Cliff Notes on what's what with that? lol

The acronyms refer to the models of machines being talked about. This isn't a complete list but here are some examples:

rMB - Retina MacBook, aka the MacBook 12", the r to differentiate it from the much older MacBook
MBP - MacBook Pro in either 13" or 15" variants
MBA - MacBook Air

You probably also have seen nTB and TB when referring to the MBP, nTB meaning no touch bar, and TB meaning it has the Touch Bar.

TB also means Thunderbolt. I really don't like most of these acronyms, unless I've already spelled out the machine model earlier.

I prefer people use the year, and the numeric designation.

eg. This is being typed on a 2008 white MacBook4,1.

Thank you!
I knew what they were, I just didn’t know which model was what.
The only one that I saw and I thought was obvious was the mbp.

So I guess I have a rMB, lol

You also see "rMBP" used to describe retina MacBook Pros, to distinguish them from pre 2012 MBP, which were not retina.
