I would like to use FaceTime remotely while my wife and I are on an extended trip in our RV in a couple of weeks. Would like to be able to leave my MacBook open and remotely start a FaceTime session so that we can see the inside of our RV to check on our pets, as well as check on a thermometer so that we can be sure there is no overheating (we don't expect this, with an automatic generator start + shore power for our RV, but we want to be cautious).

I found references to a couple of write default options for accepting FaceTime calls automatically, and for accepting FaceTime calls automatically from a specific phone number or email, but neither of those options seems to work with Mojave. Does anyone know if this is still possible? Would certainly be nice, and it appears that it worked a few versions of mac os back, but can't get it to fly at all on Mojave.

No idea if FT can do it now, but if you want larger solution, I suggest JumpDesktop. You can use that to control Mac (or Windows) computers from other devices. Including OSX, Windows, iPhone, iPad, and Android. Costs some money (depending on platform), but that would let you log into remote computer and start whatever you want there. Including FT, if needed.
