Another image of the iPhone 17 Pro's rumored new MagSafe design has surfaced. Unfortunately, though, the image's quality is pretty low.

A user known as "UnclePan" on Chinese social media platform Weibo this week shared an image of third-party MagSafe cases that are apparently for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

On the iPhone 17 Pro cases, the MagSafe layout has changed slightly, with the magnets no longer forming a complete circle on those devices.

On the regular iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air, however, the MagSafe design is unchanged compared to previous iPhone models.

It has been rumored that the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro models will be positioned lower than it is on previous iPhone models, as a result of a larger rear camera bump. The new MagSafe design would ensure that the Apple logo remains fully visible when these devices are covered by an updated MagSafe case.

As always, the MagSafe outline will only be visible on cases, and not on the iPhones directly.

Years ago, "UnclePan" accurately leaked that the Apple Watch Series 7 would be available in then-new 41mm and 45mm sizes, but the account does not have a perfect track record. However, this particular rumor has been corroborated by other sources.

Apple will likely announce the iPhone 17 series in just about six weeks from now.

I have the MagSafe Ridge wallet and it rotates/slips off due to the weaker magnets and fully circular design. If the gap is there, there might also be slightly more resistance to rotating which is a good thing for wallets.

What is the benefit of moving the flash and sensors away from the camera lenses? Why do they need a camera “bar” just to move them over there?

New camera sensor on the front and the back. I suspect it's the TrueDepth camera, as that's the main reason we still have a camera cutout. Also, moving the flash and sensors away from the camera would give less bloom, I'd imagine. Less of that mobile phone flash look.

Some rumors have mentioned a reworking of the internal layout meaning more space is needed for camera tech and other components.

Wait so they’re getting rid of the Plus to replace with Air?

Just when I thought I’d downgrade from the Pro Max to the Plus! But I have no interest in handicapped Air with potentially reduced battery o_O

In the photography world it is always welcome when the flash is as far away from the lenses to prevent intrusion of light on the lens. It also helps prevent red eyes from said flash. Makes perfect sense to ma anyway.

The Air looks very similar to the Google Pixel, but I actually like the extended camera bar of the pro models. Too bad that this angle doesn't show if there's a cutout for the rumored additional camera button.
