iOS 26 enhances the Apple Wallet boarding pass experience.

First, Apple announced that the boarding passes now support Live Activities, so you can keep track of a flight at a glance on your iPhone's Lock Screen. This functionality was already available with the Flighty app, but now you can view a flight's arrival time and more on the Lock Screen if you use Apple's built-in Wallet app.

Second, the Wallet app now displays relevant information below the boarding pass, such as Apple Maps directions to the appropriate airport terminal, a shortcut to the Find My app's newer baggage tracking feature, and more.

The first iOS 26 developer beta is now available, with a public beta to follow next month. The update will be released later this year.

I usually fly United and I prefer that app vs having to add it to wallet, but that’s just me.
All info in a single app…

Let the Sherlocking begin ... (Flighty, but not really - it's still MUCH better!)
That was my first thought. Getting instant updates on gate and aircraft changes as well as soft updates while in the air through the free messaging WiFi tier most airlines offer makes Flighty worth the subscription, and not seeing any of that here, just piggybacking off the airline’s own apps.
If those were worth anything, Flighty wouldn’t be so popular in the first place.

It’s becoming clear that Apple is “sherlocking” features that its engineers are tired of paying for through app subscriptions. LMAO

When mall maps?! If you can't find a numbered and lettered gate in an airport and all the gates are in numeric order I don't know what to say... but tell me where the Apple Store is in any random mall and I'll be really happy.

I just flew Sac (SML) to Dulles (IAD) (via LAX) and wallet still does not show updates on flight as the United App does - like what gate boarding - [that] at least if it changed since loading into wallet - or luggage carousel. So staying with UAL app for now.

Like it very much as it is more convenient if you already use wallet for your boarding pass. Live activities is a plus as well.

Yeah, the United app is inconsistent on pushing changes to the BP in the wallet. Sometimes it does update - e.g., new seat assignment - but not always, like gate changes as you've said (though sometimes that does update).

Checked in for my Delta flight tomorrow…but through Safari on my phone…it did let me add the passes to Wallet…they don’t look any different. Guessing they won’t until Delta updates in September? That sucks..but just guessing.
