greetings mac users..

this is my first post on this forum, and i thought i'd make it as easy as possible.

I'm sure this gets asked about 10 times a day but right now i'm feeling a bit lazy so i thought i'd just ask myself.

Garageband on my iBook G4 is no longer talking to my M-Audio sound card. Well, they are technically talking to each other, but the imput signal coming from the M-Audio just shows a constant noise (when you look at the System Preferences --> Sound -> M-Audio input), and comes out as a really annoying buzz when i turn my speakers on.

Anyway, i've been grabbing the free online upgrades for garageband as they come to me, and i have a sneaking suspicion that the soundcard just doesn't like the new versions. It was running fine when i first got the mac, but now it doesn't work, so i figure it's the upgraded versions which are to blame.

Assuming this is the right strategy (and by all means, shout if anybody has had a similar problem or has any inkling as to why the sound card/mac aren't working together), i think i might need to reinstall Garageband, and get it back to the original version.

..and finally to the question! - What is the best (easiest?:p) way to reinstall an ilife app (namely Garageband), and do i even need to do this at all?

any and many suggestions are welcome.

cheers all..
