Hey Guys need help scanning

I am trying to scan a document that I need to edit. My scanner has the OCR setting but when I attempt to scan to it I get "unable to open file" ? what am I doing wrong?? Thanks

A lot of scanners that say OCR on the box rely on software that runs on the host computer. More often than not that software only works on Windows. I've lost count of the number of printer and scanner features that are "windows only". I suggest you go to HP web site and see if they have OCR software for you to download. Make sure you don't install hundreds of megabytes of crap just to get OCR only to find out the OCR wasn't included. Read up front what is included before you install any software.

How many pages is the document? If it's only a few pages I wouldn't be surprised if you can type it over again faster than you can figure out the OCR software issue.
