Hi, I am thinking about no longer buying movies from ITUNES for my ipad and iphone, since it's really a money-consuming process. Instead, I am thinking about converting 720p MKV movie formats into MP4 or M4V formats, so that they can be played on my mobile devices( ipad and iphone). But I've not found a software which is highly efficient and less cpu-consuming, while capable of compressing the raw file exactly to the resolution which fits my iphone or ipad simutanouesly.

Anyone who can offer me suggestions? I would really appreciate your help! better has the link so that I can download it directly :)

Highly efficient AND less cpu-consuming? Unless you're looking for a hardware encoder that's very very unlikely. Most video converting applications use up all of the cpu power available to allow for the quickest encoding possible.
