I have an iPhone 14 Pro (iOS 17.4) and a Mac Intel Retina (Ventura).

Previously on my iPhone 11 I would say "Hey Siri" at my desk and both would initially respond, then one would decide to handle the request - as designed. But I've noticed on the new phone this no longer happens. Both respond to my request individually, so "Hey Siri at 5pm remind me to do the bins" gets logged twice.

Both devices are on the same WiFi and Bluetooth is enabled on both. I know the Mac can see my phone because it is listed under available WiFi as a HotSpot option.

Are there some other settings I need to adjust, or steps I need to take? Do I need to link/trust the devices in some way?
Thanks.

There shouldn't be anything you need to do other than making sure Bluetooth is turned on for both devices. (They don't even need to be signed into the same Apple ID.) I wonder if it may a bug or incompatibility between Ventura and iOS 18.

  • Make sure that each device has Bluetooth turned on. If Bluetooth is turned off or a device isn’t in Bluetooth range of the other devices, multiple devices might respond to your request.
  • Make sure that each device is using the latest Apple software. If some are using older software, multiple devices might respond.
