i have my phone right in front of me and HomePod is the device that gets triggered when I say hey Siri. My issue with that is I’m asking Siri something the HomePod can’t answer such as what’s in my calendar today. Is there anyway to get my phone to respond to hey Siri over HomePod?

The phone doesn’t know where you are. If you’re interacting with it it’ll answer, otherwise HomePod takes the question. So do something with the phone before you ask.

Thanks. Just annoying (I’m saying annoying in a very loose way) if I’m 15 feet from my phone and I want to double check my calendar for the day that I’ll need to go to my phone.

I was having siri default to the hompod when I was in the bedroom and the homepod was in the living room. it took several times for siri to stay ion my phone.
