Do people use this function when charging their iPhones? I feel like if I use it, it would be very sparingly. I am waiting for iOS 9 to expand voice controls to pick up "Hey Siri" from any screen without being charged.

I use it when driving if I need to send a text or navigate.

I use it in the car mostly for phone calls or texts. My phone is jailbroken, so I have "UntetheredHeySiri" installed, which allows you to use it whether it's plugged in or not.

I turned it on the other day when I was painting and playing music, but it was more of a PITA then anything.

Siri play "so and so"
Siri searches something on the internet
*I should louder/clearer*
SIRI PLAY SO AND SO
*Plays music but the completely wrong song/album I asked for*

I just washed my hands and did it the old fashioned way

Ah okay, I am not too keen on jailbreaking my 5C since I don't use as my daily driver nor do I want to jailbreak another product because I never used it when I had the iPad 4. Heck, even my Note 4 is not even rooted.

I plug in my phone on my nightstand when I go to sleep. Before falling asleep, I'll sometimes ask "hey siri, what's the weather going to be like tomorrow?" or "hey siri, wake me up at 7".

This is basically the only time i use it, to set my alarm from a distance.

I use Siri often for many things throughout the day, but at night when my phone is charging I don't see the use for "Hey Siri" unless to set an alarm or reminder, if the phone is in my hand I will just press the home button for 3 seconds, seems easier.

I use it quite a lot to set reminders, alarms, make notes and to read any notifications I may have.

I think it's one of the best features of iOS 8.

I don't use it. I'm not even really very fond of Siri in general.

Me too. The Google voice app works much better when I am interested in using my voice to search, or get directions. The speech recognition is way better than Apple's implementation - particularly if there's background noise.

By far the best use for Hey Siri is to turn off your alarm without having to get out of bed in the morning. :D

Apart from that, I just use it in the car to dial or change album - in NSW it's illegal even to touch your phone to activate Siri with the hardware button!

Turning off the alarm without getting out of bed would be a problem for some. I can see how it would be handy, but I need to get up and turn mine off for a reason!:p
