Hey guys, im in a dilemma right now...as im doing my diplomas in I.T i will soon have to also know how to use a macbook and do programming on it such as maybe iOS apps....thus i feel that i should start learning so at least in future looking for a job would be slightly easier knowing both platforms....my current choices are this....

MBA 13" 256gb w/ i7 upgrade

MBP 15" ati 6750 stock maybe future diy upgrades to 8gb ram

dont know whether i will get into video editing...current target is to learn mac os and do basic programming on it....will be carrying it to school everyday so afraid MBP becomes a hassle...barely any gaming done other than wc3 as have another main computer...will most likely bootcamp it too

thanks for the advices

hmmm i got no plans to do gaming on it....as i already have a gaming desktop and desktop replacement laptops to game on....currently really considering whether to get

MBP 15"
i7 2.3ghz upgrade or 2.2ghz stock
4gb ram (diy upgrade to 8gb in future cheaper?)
500gb 7200rpm (change to vertex 3 end of year)
Hi-Res (glossy or antiglare?)
amd ati 6750m

Get the baseline cpu. Upgrading that is a waste of money.
You're right about the RAM; stock and upgrade yourself for 50 or less
I'm doing the same with my HDD; stock 320 and a ssd later this year
Hi-res (I would say antiglare but you should read people's impressions of it before making the final choice).

Since you have a gaming machine, get the cheaper graphics card; the stock 256mb one. The 6490M
