hi Whenever I modify a text file; which is often; I keep them to make organizing details ea-sier for me; Im a fast typer and Ive been typing my whole life; I cant modify it and it remains in the same place . Instead of sitting where I put it it jumps to a new spot on the desktop; which Id like Apple to resolve . Oh and its not txt files and nothing else; its rich text format and any editable text types .

Are you saying that the files on your desktop move after you modify them?

If so, click on the desktop, go to the View menu and pull it down to "sort by" and change it to "none".

hi There! Im sure you can pick up the jist of it; or if you cant thats not a problem; obviously youll get the point eventually; and the point is that the text files jump around on a flat screen which is strange .
