Hi,

I was wondering how much less is a 30 to 40 db (Wind)-Noise Reduction ??

I am thinking about buying this product now, as opposed to in a later date.
I am moving to a different country for a few months and it may not be as
easy or accessible to get one of these later on. That's why I'll be trusting
your advice. The zoom recorder will be used to conduct interviews most of the time inside a building/house, not outside. However, even for interviews indoors, you may still consider that this item is very helpful or even necessary. A disadvantage is that it is a bit pricey, even though people claim that "the quality is worth it".

A 30-40 dB reduction should reduce conventional wind to whisper levels. In the middle of the city, with high background noise and fast winds the voice should still be the loudest thing recorded.

However, indoors, your worst enemy will always be reverberation, so be sure to always use a cardioid pattern and avoid rooms and hallways with highly reflective materials.
