Hi,

I just looked at crucial's webpage and it seemed to me that
it doesn't give the option for newer MBPs like the retina MBP.
I have a MBP from early 2011. I was thinking about
getting RAM for my MBP and I was wondering if one could
use the RAM from the 2011 MBP in a newer retina MBP.

Thank you in advance, kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

If I remember correctly, the RAM in the new rMBPs are soldered into the motherboard, removing any possibility of expanding memory.

You're SOL on this one.

All rMBPs have soldered RAM. It's not upgradeable.

rMBP RAM is soldered to the motherboard and not upgradeable.

The RAM in retina macbook pro is not user upgradable

OP - RAM on rMBP is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Just in guess the previous four 4 were unclear. :)

Just having a little fun - but not sure 4 post saying the same thing was needed. But I had to join in also. :)
