Hi : ) !!! - Not getting the new 12" MBA and looking for a deal !!!

Hi,

I may not be getting a 12" MBA, even though it
may be an excellent choice for many : ) !!!

I may not be able to wait until june and the
current 11" seems to be a good portable option!

As time approaches for a release, I wonder where
I may be able to find a new 11" MBA for some
$740-$750 at the most! I had a 12" ibook some time
ago, and I still have it. I just have to fix it. It
got a kernel panic. The screen size seemed at
times small. The 13" MBA I have now is good
for the screen size, but it is a bit heavy and "big"
too. That is why the 11" will be good for me.

Hopefully I can get it at a lower price. It sells at
many websites for around $800

Without knowing where you are located, the US refurb store has 11" MBAs starting at $769, with full warranty, as well as return privileges, arguably an excellent option vis-a-vis buying a used computer from a stranger on-line.

Reputable dealers have it now for the final price of $800 now.
Unfortunately, the refurb model plus tax to anywhere is over
$800.

Im in the same shoes, I can't wait for June or July to get new computer. I need one now. Also I find 12 inch to be a strange size to be honest. Not big enough for comfortable desktop repacement and still larger form factor than 11 inch.

I got a refurbished 11" 2013 Air base model from apple on its special deals/refurbished page for $719 a few months ago. You can check there or another option os B&H photo sometimes has 100 to 150 off previous models.

One of the tricks I have noticed with Apple refurbished, is to wait until a new model comes out, then buy the previous model. This is just an absolute guess, but I think Apple dumps old inventory into the refurbished store. I got my rMBP for 1599, and what they have now for 1599 is the Late 2013 with 8gigs of RAM.
When they are trying to get rid of old inventory, they sell it cheaper.
 
If you live near a Best Buy you can get an additional 10% off by visiting the post office and getting a "mover's packet". If they no longer carry those you can go to the USPS address forward website and pay ~ $1 to do a change of address request. At the end of the request they have a printable coupon for 10% off. Once you have used the mover's coupon cancel the change of address request.

I did this a few months ago when I was legitimately moving (I didn't cancel the request though). However, I have quite a few friends that did not move and just followed the instructions and cancelled after redeeming the coupon.
