Hi,

I "inherited" a cable from my uncle!

It has a "point" that enters the iPhone. From that "point",
it has two cables. One is to get connected to a USB port,
and the other one, is to get connected to fire wire. Does
it do more than just than connect the iPhone/iPod to either
a choice of the USB port or to the Fire Wire ??

Thank you in advance, kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

Those are the old USB/Firewire combo cables for the 3rd generation iPod. It won't work on an iPhone. I know because I've tried myself since I have one.

I presume the iPhone end is the 30pin dock connector? When the 30 pin Dock Connector was first introduced, iPods could be connected to your system via USB or FireWire. Your iPhone is USB only and will only work with USB and not FireWire.
