Hidden Dock

With using a MacBook screen (13.3" or 16"), sometimes one needs to manage their screen real estate, as best as possible.
Curious, do you have your Dock hidden, or not?

My dock is always displayed, okay sometimes I accidentally move the cursor too far so hover over it, but less so than when I used the Ubuntu side dock.

I don't have a MacBook, but I hide the Dock. In this case, why have it showing when I'm not needing to use it?

But, I dislike apps or web pages that hide things and expect you to know where to move your cursor to access them.

On notebook screens, my dock is hidden, and is on the left side of the screen where it's least likely that I will accidentally hit it.
