Hidden files not opening on double click - 10.8.1

I have my hidden files turned on to show, but recently when I try to double click on a hidden file or folder to open, it will not open. I have to right click and tell it to open. Very annoying

Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? I've searched google and can't find anything.

This appears to have been an intentional move by Apple. Try removing the hidden flag from the files you access often:

sudo chflags nohidden /path/to/file
