So I randomly searched for something in Spotlight and the search reveled what I was looking for, as well as something that was not supposed to be there...
What appeared was a file that i had hidden using the Terminal 'mkdir .filename' command. I made this hidden folder a couple years ago regularly put files into it that I want hidden. I would test this by using Spotlight to search for the files that were in the hidden folder I made. I would know that the test was successful if Spotlight could NOT find any of the files inside the hidden folder.
But for some reason now when I search for those hidden files they come up right away in Spotlight...
Any thoughts as to how I can make these files not show up in finder? I thought that hiding files through terminal was good enough, but I guess my settings must have changed
Thanks
