Hidden Lion User Library on an External Drive

I recently upgraded my hard drive in my Macbook, and put the old drive into an external cradle for backup.
Now I need to access the User Library folder on that external drive, which being a Lion OS X drive, is hidden.
How can I access the User Library on that external hard drive?
