New installation of Leopard on a 2ghz Core Duo Macbook Pro.

Whenever I try to take a screenshot (cmd+shift+4 or 3), it does not appear to take the screenshot at all, but if I use the terminal to look, they're there but hidden and with a four-letter suffix after the .png. Renaming them does not work, it just gives me a corrupt image.

When I try this on the guest account, the screenshot takes just fine and ends up on the desktop like its supposed to. It's only my account that has issues.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
