Hide Alerts Turning on Automatically

I have an iphone 15 pro running 17.0.3, and for just one of my contacts Hide Alerts toggles on by itself. I had briefly set my wife to allowed people in DND mode but turned DND mode off. Now just for her, Hide Alerts will toggle on by itself. I turned it off last night and this morning it was on. Anyone having this issue or aware of any bugs? I also have a Macbook and ipad, could they be causing it? I appreciate any help.

A quick Google search shows that this specific bug has existed for over 2 years. There are threads all over the place about this... but nobody seems to have found a solution for this yet.

Some say they fixed it by turning DND on and off on your other devices too. I don't understand the logic behind this but for some it worked.
