Hide birthdays in calendar <> notification center

Behaviour in iOS 6: Hide birthdays in calendar.app > birthdays are still shown in notification center

Behaviour in iOS 7: Hide birthdays in calendar.app > no birthdays shown in notification center

I'm not quite sure if it's a new bug or rather a bugfix (or even wrong settings by me?), however i prefer the behaviour in iOS 6. Can someone give me a hint?

More likely simply because calendar events in the "Today" tab and notifications on the other tabs in the notification center in iOS 7 work differently in general than how they work in the notification center in iOS 6 and earlier.
