Hi.

I like to automatically hide the dock, because it gives me more space on the screen. Sadly, I can't see mail and Adium notifications when the dock is hidden.

Is there any solution for this?

Thanks in advance

This might be of help:
http://growl.info/

I must admit, that I don't really like Growl. I don't like getting messages on the screen. Adium can be configured so it only shows a message above the icon and Mail does only show a notification in the right corner of the dock icon. It's simple and it's clean.

And it stays there until I've checked the application.

Mail gives also audible confirmations of new messages if I remember correctly, as it contacts the server every x minutes.

Adium not bouncing when dock is hidden

I have the same problem - Adium not bouncing when dock is hidden.

Does anyone have a solution to make it bounce? (Growl is not ideal.)

Solution to make Adium bounce in hidden dock

I found the solution. Easy one:

Change the Adium defaults for Events:

1. Go to Adium > Preferences.
2. Go to the Events tab.
3. Scroll down to "Message received", double click it, change it to "Bounce the dock icon repeatedly."
4. Do the same for any other events you wish e.g. "Contact invites you to a group chat"
