Is it possible to hide a Hot Spot when I "share" my internet from my MacBook Pro?

I live in a college dorm where they do not allow personal routers, but that's for security I'm assuming. I only want to use a hidden hot spot so I can use my tablet and phone without killing my data.

What you need to use is a "hidden SSID", see if your device that's doing the broadcasting supports it.

He is talking about using his MBP to share his wired connection, effectively turning his MBP into a hotspot. I have found no method of hiding the SSID using this method, so I suspect he will need a new device to use as a bridge to allow this.
