Hide files & folders in snow leopard

Hi

In windows i had a option to hide files & folder according to my requirment

How/Where can i get this option in snow leopard

No need to post 2 of the same thread in different sections of the forums...

To show/hide hidden files/folders, press Command-Shift-Period. I haven't ever needed to do this, but a quick Google search gave me this to hide actual folders/files (it's a program).

This keyboard shortcut doesn't do anything for me in Snow Leopard's Finder
