Hide or Dim OS X (black) Menu Bar

Is there somebody who knows a working app for hiding or diming the menu bar in Mac OS X? I use Blacktree's Nocturne 2.0. But it works not that good with Mountain Lion. I want a monochrom (black with white symbols) menu bar that is normally hidden (just a black bar)...
