Not sure if this was covered or not, but I've found a way to hide the new "suggestive text" feature. While it seems to be fairly useful, I think it has also contributed to a somewhat laggy/buggy experience while texting as opposed to iOS7. It also makes the screen feel crowded (iPhone 5).
If you swipe down in the area where the suggested words are showing, it should hide that bar of "suggested words". You'll see a thin gray bar above the keyboard with a white stripe (like a handle) in the middle. Then swipe up on that bar to bring the suggested words back up.
Pretty simple, it's probably been discovered and discussed already, but thought I'd point it out in case it hasn't.
