I have transmission on my dock, and i was wondering if there is a way to hide the icon, but while it will still download a file.

Yes, there is.

A program called Dockless can help you out with that.

In the readme for the app, it tells you how it does it too, incase you would like to do it for yourself.

Thanks,

The reason y i wanted this is because i might have something downloading/ almost finished, and my dad will come in and delete what is almost done. so if i was able to keep transmission running while the icon was invisible, i would have no problems. Thanks again

So why don't you respect your dad and only use Transmission when no one else is needing to use the internet? Seriously, hiding stuff from your parents isn't a good idea.

BTW, Dockless and other solutions for hiding things from the Dock will not allow you to use the menubar either, so it may cause problems.

Am I the only one that suspects he's downloading...inappropriate things? Anyways, you can also set up bandwidth throttling.
