When I use Front Row to browse my local .avi, .mp4, etc files it would always show the extension. If I rename the file from movie.mp4 to just movie, I am simply hiding the file extension (this is what I want to do).

If I tick "Show All File Extensions" in the finder prefs, then the extensions reappear. Perfect.

Is there a quick, painless way to hide extensions for a group of files? This way they would look a little more pleasing to browse through

Thanks
