Hiding photos in iPhoto

I know how to hide individual photos in events, but is there a way to hide the whole event?

(One thing I noticed is that if I select all the pictures in that event and hide it, it stays hidden even if I go to view and show hidden items. I would have to edit>undo to get my pictures back.)

you could just store them in a folder as oppossed to importing into iphoto

now if you want to keep them in iphoto then i dunno
