I have recently purchased a new 15" MacBook. I realized that images opened on PhotoShop are very high on contrast. Need to know the reason why, and how to resolve the problem.
Have reinstalled the Adobe package, problem still persists.

^^ what he said. DO a search for Screen Calibration Profiles and if that doesn't help, you might have to get it switched out through Apple Care or at a store.

Agree.
If its REALLY bad it might be defective but I would definitely start with a screen calibration.
Or load a profile as VSMac suggested.
